Emma Frankish Law B A (Hons)

I studied at Winchester School of Art and Brighton Polytechnic in the 1990s, working with mixed media, textiles, and a wide range of materials.

After graduating, family and work commitments took priority for a time, but as my children grew more independent, my creative practice re-emerged with renewed energy and focus. This period marked a shift toward developing creative workshops that could be accessible to people of all ages and abilities.

Through this work, I discovered mosaic as a particularly inclusive and engaging medium, offering both structure and freedom for participants. Recognising its potential within community settings, I completed a local business course and founded Mosaic Malarky Community Arts.

Since officially launching as a small business in May 2013, Mosaic Malarky has received several grants and delivered creative workshops for schools, care settings, and community organisations across East Sussex. More recently, I have taken on a studio space at Hypha Studios, developing it as a community-facing creative hub for mosaic, craft, wellbeing-focused activity, and artist-led collaboration. This work continues to centre creativity as a tool for connection, learning, and shared making.
